An Investment in Georgia's FutureThe Georgia Institute of Technology and Consulate General of Switzerland in Atlanta are presenting a 2-day public policy forum to explore solutions to Georgia's growing traffic congestion. Inspired by Switzerland's sustainable transportation model illustrated in the exhibit "On Track to the Future — Sustainable Transportation a Challenge for the 21st Century," the event will bring together local, regional, national and international experts to evaluate the road ahead for Georgia and how these challenges may be resolved. This gathering of regional planners, advocates, policy makers, business leaders, and political decision-makers will define exactly what problems the region faces, what solutions are available, and describe the leadership needed to avoid gridlock. Other presentations will be organized for transportation, engineering, planning and architectural students attending Atlanta area colleges. These free events will be held on the campus of Georgia Tech: Sustainable Transportation Forum on January 20th and the Transportation Academy on January 21st, at the Technology Square Research Building at Cenergy, 85 Fifth Street. Both events are open to the public. This event is part of the U.S.-wide program ThinkSwiss — Brainstorm the Future. Switzerland has one of the best public transportation systems in the world and will discuss best practices with American experts in Atlanta. ThinkSwiss promotes exchanges and the sharing of know-how related to "sustainable transportation" between the USA and Switzerland.
